house happenings...

we're about two months away from moving into our new home...new projects develop each day. it's a bit overwhelming, but we're taking it room by room. mike's been amazing taking charge of a lot of the projects and details. here's some pics and updates of the changes...

*the counter tops are in!!! the kitchen is one of the rooms i'm most excited about so it's fun to see it come together...last step is to paint and tile.

* paint...i never realized how much prep work painting takes. we spent probably 3 days prepping the trim before we even touched a brush. once all of the trim is done (love the trim in the house, but hate the work) we'll probably hire some friends to work on the walls.

* drywall and windows...we had a falling plaster ceiling drywalled, and we're shopping for a new windows to place in our bedroom. the whole house could probably use new windows but they will have to be a slow project

* first blooms...the spring has been fun as we're discovering what's growing in our yard. we have our first flower. one single daffodil. it's so lovely!

what sound does a giraffe make?

well i never figured out the answer to that question but i did get to feed a giraffe...for spring break my dad and step-mom flew mike, my sister and i down to tampa where they have a new home. it was great to spend a few days in perfect 80 degree weather. we took a trip to busch gardens and took a tour where we got to feed the giraffe. they're so amazing!

being an aunt...

one of the greatest blessings about being a part of mike's family is that it makes me an aunt...i just adore my three nephews michael, lukie, and drew. i didn't grow up around boys so they have educated me. well yesterday i became an aunt again...this time i have a niece. it was even more amazing 'cause kelly (my sis-in-law) gave me the honor of being in the delivery room for her c-section. it was surreal and awesome! when brie (that's my niece...brie anne elisabeth griffin) popped her head out she gave a little squeak. kelly and gabe are amazing parents who are growing some amazing little people. and i just love being an aunt!

mike's slumber habits...

so mike works 3rd shift so he's up till 8 am and then will sleep during the day...since this change in his sleeping hours he's developed some strange habits.
